En, a new Japanese beauty spa entering the Parisian market, is bringing its Asian skincare philosophy to a European audience. In the new Paris outpost, it will serve up a range of innovative essences and a menu of hand applied bespoke facials all packaged in a serene, design-led setting.
Occupying the ground floor and basement of an 18th-century building, tucked away in the leafy Odéon neighborhood, En is the newly launched sub-brand and facial boutique of Japanese lifestyle business Lenor, which opened the Paris flagship to showcase the brand’s full product offering; a well-appointed selection of 100 unique beauty essences derived from extracts of organically grown plants, scrubs composed of precious rock salts, and powders stemming from Japanese tea leaves.
After studying the character of the skin, En’s beauty technicians create their signature bespoke facial, which to achieve optimum results, is hand-applied and custom blended on the spot specifically for each guest. By marrying traditional French creams and oriental massage techniques, En’s treatment programme promises to eradicate signs of fatigue and replenish a dull and tired complexion.
The ethereal space, decked out by Paris-based architecture practice and creative studio Archiee, is a haven for aesthetes in need of a little beauty restoration. Archiee drew inspiration from the art and practice of traditional Japanese tea making to create a series of four rounded spaces, suitable for counselling, treatment, massage, and essence blending. The tranquil interior features custom designed lighting fixtures and a plethora of polished brass surfaces, taking cues from the brand’s name – the phoneme En, meaning ‘beauty’, ‘connection’, and ‘circle’ in Japanese.
